Somebody Has To Say It
I was watching CNN when Jack Cafferty of the Cafferty Report said what everyone was thinking.
He went on to point out,
Thank you to Scott Tribe for the transcription.
Where the hell is the water for these people? Why can't sandwiches be dropped to those people in the Superdome. What is going on? This is Thursday! This storm happened 5 days ago. This is a disgrace. And don't think the world isn't watching. This is the government that the taxpayers are paying for, and it's fallen right flat on its face as far as I can see, in the way it's handled this thing.
He went on to point out,
... when they were removing Terry Schiavo's feeding tube, Congress got back in session on a Sunday night to pass some sort of a resolution. Here, they might get back on Friday -- the storm hit Monday. I guess it's all what's important to you..."
Thank you to Scott Tribe for the transcription.

I've said this in several comments to several posts already, so here's the short version.
CNN is doing GREAT. Their reporters are mad, and showing it (in this case, good for them).
Anderson Cooper is my new hero, and I'll never make fun of him again.
If things improve today, I give credit to the media, and while I've only really been watching CNN, I know they're all mad (Time, the NY Times, NBC, ABC, CBS) and their shaming the government into doing better.
Good for them, one and all.

To Lord Kitchener's Own: It really is refreshing. It really affects me to see journalists finally asking the questions I would normally have to yell at the television screen. I only hope the change is permanent.
And *gasp*! You made fun of Anderson? Oh man, he's so dreamy. No one makes fun of Anderson, got that? No one. :p
